EQUESTRIAN MENTAL WELLNESS CLINIC

Saturday, April 20th, from 5:00  to 7:00 p.m.

Equestrianism is a demanding sport, requiring both physical and mental strength, stamina and resilience. It’s not uncommon for riders to struggle with trauma after a bad fall, grief at the loss of a beloved horse, stress, anxiety, or loss of confidence. Frenchtown Riding Club is pleased to host a clinic with Lisa Weiss, LCSW, a fellow equestrian and fonder of BEAU Equestrian Mental Wellness. This is a great opportunity for horse owners, riders, and professionals of all disciplines and levels to add some new tools to their toolbox, for better riding, greater enjoyment, and a stronger relationship between horse and rider. This clinic is $10 for FRC members, $25 per nonmember, including a light buffet & refreshments. Email or phone us to reserve your spot.

MEMBERS-ONLY SCHOOLING SHOW

Sunday, April 28th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Our next Members-Only Schooling Show will include some exciting new classes! In addition to Lead Line Walk, Lead Line Walk/Trot, Walk/Trot Equitation, Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation, Walk/Trot Poles, Crossrail Equitation and

2' Equitation, we'll be offering some new classes, such as Walk, Showmanship, Pleasure Walk/Trot, Pleasure Walk/Trot/Canter and Crossrail Jumpers, along with some non-traditional, "just for fun" classes, including Ride A Buck, Musical Stalls and Egg & Spoon Race.

The registration fee is $15 per class, plus a $60 Trainer fee (excluding members who will be riding their own horses and do not desire the services of a trainer at the show). Registration Forms may be obtained from any Instructor.

To prepare for the show, participants are welcome to take advantage of additional lesson opportunities as follows:

Riders interested in learning more about Showmanship are encouraged to join our new group Showmanship lessons at noon on Sundays with Instructor Jess, beginning Sunday, March 17th, and continuing through Sunday, April 21st. Lessons may be booked individually at $50 per participant and are open to all ages and levels.

Riders seeking to learn more about competing in the Pleasure classes are invited to reach out regarding available days and times, and we'll do our best to arrange weekly group Pleasure Class lessons that will accommodate as many riders as possible. Alternatively, you may ask your Instructor to pursue this during your private riding lessons or may schedule additional private riding lessons.

Riders looking to hone their skills in preparation for any of the other classes will be able to do so as part of their normal lessons and may also schedule additional private lessons, if they wish.

While participation in this show is limited to FRC members, nonmembers are more than welcome to come watch and cheer them on.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase during the show.

POLO CLINIC

Sunday, May 5th, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Try your hand at polo, arguably the world’s most addictive sport, with polo instructor, trainer and manager of the Tinicum Park Polo Club and Princeton University Polo Coach, Hesham El-Gharby. This clinic, which is suitable for all ages and riding levels, will begin with an overview of the sport, followed by unmounted instruction, after which participants will have the opportunity to practice their new skills from atop a metal horse and/or a real polo pony. This rain or shine event will be held in our spacious indoor arena. Participants are asked to register in advance, at a cost of $10 for FRC members and $25 for nonmembers, by phone or email. Spectators and "tail-gaters" are also welcome to drop by, at no charge, and check out what promises to be a fun and lively event.
